DeMarquis Loyd, DDS
Dr. DeMarquis Loyd completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville and his master’s degree at Midwestern University before attending dental school at Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry. He graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2014 and subsequently completed a general practice residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans in 2015. Dr. Loyd stays up-to-date on the latest treatment techniques through multiple continuing education courses each year in order to ensure that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care possible. As a dentist, Dr. Loyd’s goal is to provide excellent comprehensive dental care to his patients in a friendly and comfortable environment. His commitment to patient education shines through in his ability to explain treatment needs to patients. He helps to make patients aware of the status and importance of their oral health as well as understand the connection between their oral and overall health. Dr. Loyd works diligently to provide his patients with a comfortable, genuine experience with a focus on solutions for dental issues and concerns and ensuring that their comprehensive dental needs are met. Outside of the office, Dr. Loyd loves spending time with family, friends, and his fur baby, Brandy. His other leisure interests include traveling to new places and participating in quality dining experiences.
Dr. Channon Davis
Senior Vice President of Operations
Dr. Channon Davis was born in a rural county in Alabama. Academics have always been an essential part of his life. Dr. Davis’s inquisitive nature and a strong desire to ingrain the fundamental principles as well as techniques of any subject of study have enabled him to achieve an excellent academic record over his 20+ year career. In 2000, he moved to Birmingham, AL to attend college (The University of Alabama at Birmingham). He received his college degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Finance, at The University of Alabama at Birmingham during the course of his education at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. Davis realized and came to the conclusion that his true liking and aptitude lie in research and teaching.
Dr. Davis obtained his Bachelor of Science in Finance and having cultivated an unequivocal forte for unearthing greater capabilities in finance, marketing, and operations, he earned a reputation as a thought leader who is equally as analytical as he is a visionary. After 10 successful years of working in the industry and obtaining his MBA, he went on to obtain an Alternative Masters in Education. Dr. Davis is skilled in the fine art of selecting and adapting the best teaching materials and learning styles available for use in a given classroom. Dr. Davis is a staunch advocate and devotee of lifelong, active learning and he has a deep passion for technology. He consistently stays up-to-date concerning technological advancement in education. Dr. Davis believes that research and teaching go hand in hand. He completed his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Samford University in 2018. Teaching gives one a sense of constructive participation in the education process. Research enables a person to stay in touch with the latest advances while making one’s own contributions to the field.
Throughout his life, he has been continually placed in leadership positions: top scholastic honors each grade during grade school, President of the Student Council in grade school, UAB School of Education Ambassador, M. Strong Scholarship Recipient, President of the church youth organization all four years of high school and vice president of his fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Incorporated and during the 2019 global pandemic, Dr. Davis became an owner/inspector of Dr. Davis Property Inspections, PLLC in Texas, changing gears from education temporarily. When he is not working, he loves to read, travel, and learn. His interests are broad and varied.
